Use-cases
The power of bAWARE lies in a simple but revolutionary idea:
real-time information and response — available directly on board the wild animal. With this principle, the potential applications are virtually endless.
The core concept is patent-pending, as are several specific implementations designed for different conservation challenges.
Large carnivores threat
Large carnivores, such as lions, wolves, or bears, are often a perceived or real threat to humans and their livestock.
In Africa, stationary or even movable fences for the night are used to protect e.g. cattle.
But what if the whereabouts of the life-stock were simply tracked, and the lions discouraged of approaching them by geo-fencing?
Every bAWARE-equipped carnivore is so to speak "vaccinated" against animal conflict and enabled for coexistence in a human-dominated world

Pangolines stuck to electric fences
The Pangolin is the most illegally trafficked mammal in the world. Yet in South Africa for example, it is estimated that 10-20x more die on electrical fences: When they touch the lower wire with their unprotected underbelly, their reflexive response makes them curl into a ball around the wire, perpetuating the situation and till death from electrocution or starvation.
bAWARE-could keep pangolines away from these deadly traps.
Stranding Whales
Thinking outside the box,
what if bAWARE could keep whales from beaching in the first place, instead of re-actively trying to push them back?
Once again, we only have to consider a number of individuals equivalent numbers to a rather small human settlement.
Coastline data could fit on a tiny SD card.
The animals would be perfect for motion harvesting energy.
